Help & contact
Pick'em Builder is a small, independent site that runs pick'em pools for football, basketball, hockey, soccer and golf. Most questions are answered below. For anything else, a real person reads every message.
Common questions
Do players need an account?
No. Players join from the commissioner's link with just a name and an email address. There's no app to download and no password to remember. Only commissioners, the people who create and run a pick'em, sign in with an account.
How do I get back to my picks on a new phone or computer?
Open your pool's link and enter the email you joined with. We'll email you a one-time sign-in link. Every reminder and weekly recap email also has a link that signs you in on any device.
When do picks lock?
Each game locks at its own kickoff or tip-off, so you can make the early games now and come back for the late ones. Golf picks lock when the tournament tees off. You can change any pick until its game locks.
What if I forget to pick a game?
If your commissioner turned on auto-pick, a game you skipped gets the favorite once it locks, so a busy weekend doesn't knock you out of the race. Without auto-pick, a missed game scores zero. Survivor pools are different: missing a week counts as a loss.
How is scoring done?
Straight-up picks score a point for each winner. Against-the-spread picks are graded against the opening line, which is frozen so everyone picks against the same number. In a confidence pool, a correct pick scores the confidence number you gave it. Standings update live as games finish.
Does Pick'em Builder collect buy-ins or pay the winners?
No, never. The commissioner collects any buy-in and pays the winners directly, by Venmo, Zelle, cash or however your group likes. We just show the buy-in, track who's marked as paid, and keep score. We never hold or move player money.
How much does it cost?
It's free to create and run a pick'em for groups of up to 10 players. For bigger groups, commissioners can go Unlimited for $49 a year or $5 a month. Players never pay us anything.
How do I invite my group?
After you create a pick'em, the launch screen gives you a ready-to-send message for your group chat, plus copy, text, WhatsApp, email and a QR code. Anyone with the link can join in about 30 seconds.
Who can see my email address?
Only you and your commissioner. Other players see your name on the leaderboard, never your email or phone number. See our privacy policy for the details.
A score looks wrong, or a game isn't final yet. What should I do?
Scores come in live from the official game feed and usually go final within minutes of the end of a game. If something still looks off an hour after a game ends, send us a note below with the pool name and game, and we'll fix it.
How do I delete a pick'em or my account?
A commissioner can delete a pick'em from its manage page any time before its first game starts. To delete your account or your player data, email us and we'll take care of it.
