How your NFL pool runs
- 1
Choose your rules
Straight up or against the spread, flat scoring or confidence points, the full season or a single Sunday. Turn on quarter standings or weekly payouts so the whole group has something to play for.
- 2
Share the link
Players join with a name and email from one link โ no app, no password. Forward it to the office channel or the fantasy league chat and you're done recruiting.
- 3
Picks lock game by game
Thursday night's game locks Thursday, Sunday's games lock at their kickoffs, and Monday night stays open until Monday. Nobody sneaks in a late pick, and nobody has to submit the whole week by Thursday.
- 4
Scores and standings update live
Results flow in automatically during the games. Once a game kicks off, everyone can see how the pool split on it โ which makes every touchdown more fun to watch.
NFL pool formats
Mix and match: any format can run season-long or for a single weekend.
Straight-up pick'em
Pick the winner of every NFL game. Most correct wins the week and the season. The format every office pool started with, and still the easiest to fill.
Set this up โAgainst the spread
Every pick is graded against the opening line, frozen when the slate posts โ so everyone in the pool is picking against the same number, no matter when they submit.
Set this up โConfidence points
Rank every game by how sure you are. Your top pick is worth the most points; your coin flip is worth one. Works straight up or against the spread.
Set this up โSurvivor
One team a week, no repeats, lose once and you're out. Commissioners can allow buy-backs for players knocked out early.
Set this up โGauntlet
Survivor without the elimination: one team a week, no repeats, and the best record at the end wins. Everyone plays all 18 weeks.
Set this up โOne Sunday
A single-week pool for a game-day party, the season opener, or Thanksgiving โ one slate, one winner.
Set this up โ
Season-long, without the Halloween dropouts
An 18-week race has a built-in problem: by late October, the bottom half of the standings knows it's done, and missed picks start piling up. Quarter standings fix that. The season is split into quarters, each with its own winner, so the player who started 2โ6 in September has a fresh shot in October.
Add weekly payouts โ a small weekly ante, with the week's best score taking it โ and every Sunday matters to everyone, whatever the season standings say. You decide the amounts; the pool page shows the rules and tracks the winners.
Against the spread, without the arguments
NFL lines move all week. If players pick against whatever the number happens to be when they submit, two people can take the same team at different spreads โ and the Monday argument writes itself. Pick'em Builder freezes the opening line when the week's slate posts, shows it right on each pick, and grades every pick against that one number, pushes included.
Commissioner chores that disappear
If you've run an NFL pool on a spreadsheet, here's what you stop doing:
- โขTyping in the schedule and spreads every Tuesday โ the slate and lines load automatically.
- โขChasing missing picks โ reminders go out on their own, and a "who hasn't picked" nudge reaches only the stragglers.
- โขGrading Monday morning โ every pick scores as the final whistle blows.
- โขScreenshotting the standings โ a shareable standings card is ready for the group chat.
- โขFielding "what did everyone pick?" โ pick splits are revealed once each game kicks off.
What makes it easy
Two-minute setup
Name the pool, pick the rules, share the link. The NFL schedule and lines are already loaded.
Pick reminders
Automatic emails remind players before kickoff, so nobody forfeits a week because they forgot.
Weekly recap emails
After each week, players get the results and where they stand โ the trash talk starts itself.
Kickoff locks
Every game locks at its own kickoff. Thursday, Sunday, Monday โ no honor system required.
NFL + college on one slate
Want Saturdays too? Combine the top NFL and college games into one weekly pool.
Built for phones
Players pick from the couch and check standings from the stands.
We never touch the pot
This is the first thing every NFL commissioner asks, so here it is plainly: Pick'em Builder never collects, holds, or pays out pool money. You set the buy-in and payout rules, collect by Venmo, Zelle, or cash, and pay the winners โ weekly winners, quarter winners, and the season champ. The site shows your rules and who's paid; the money itself never touches us.
Pricing
Free for pools up to 10 players โ every format, live scoring, full standings. Bigger group? Unlimited is $49/year (about $4 a month) or $5/month, for as many players and pools as you want. Players always join free.
Questions
- Do we have to pick every NFL game?
- By default the slate is every NFL game that week, Thursday night through Monday night. You can also trim it to the week's top games if your group prefers a shorter list.
- How do Thursday and Monday night games lock?
- Each game locks at its own kickoff. Thursday's game locks Thursday night, while Sunday and Monday games stay open until they start โ players don't have to submit everything early.
- What spread do we pick against in an ATS pool?
- The opening line, frozen when the slate posts. Everyone picks against the same number all week, and it's shown on each pick so there's no confusion about which line counts.
- Can we pay weekly winners and a season winner?
- Yes. Turn on weekly payouts and quarter standings alongside the season race. You handle the actual money off-platform; the pool tracks who won what.
- Can players see each other's picks?
- Not before a game starts. Once a game kicks off, everyone can see how the pool split on it โ so nobody can copy the leader, but everyone can sweat the result together.
- Can we combine NFL and college football?
- Yes. A combined slate takes the top 8 games from each, so Saturday and Sunday count in one pool.
- Do players need an account?
- No. They open your link, enter a name and email, and start picking. No app and no password.
